I searched my world to find contentment,
But instead I found deception, hate, and pain.
I questioned my life’s purpose ..
When it seemed only suffering remained.
My faith was growing weaker,
With no answer to the things I’d seek.
That’s when the Darkness found me…
The Darkness preys on the weak.
Time seemed to have stopped while I was walking through my hell.
My reflection was a stranger, not the man I once knew well.
My smile told a lie, but behind it I’d hide;
“They may read my expression, but they can’t read what’s inside.”
Hope consumed by doubt, ambitions erased.
No longer seeing light. Just the Darkness I faced.
With an unquenchable thirst it begged for my tears.
It fed on my suffering and so instilled me with fears.
It devoured my heart. Hypnotized by it’s lies; I was it’s slave.
Still it remained unsatisfied; it’s wrath unfulfilled,
For it was my soul it craved.
I had nowhere left to go… “Will someone please show me the way?”
I tried so hard to fight, but it was getting darker each day.
Memories held me prisoner with no escape from empty dreams.
I gazed up towards the heavens wondering….
“Does He hear my silent screams?”
The Darkness smiled and held me in its cold embrace,
I could feel my body falling … It was time to leave this place.

An Angel was sent from heaven, and she caught me as I fell.
She spoke sweet words of wisdom, and saved me from my hell.
Her smile detested by the Darkness, it saw a bright light in her eyes.
It released me from it’s grasp, and left with all it’s lies.
The Angel took my hand and said “Goodbye” as we parted under the sun.
With my faith restored and the Darkness gone…
My life has just begun.
My future holds new meaning with the gift I received from above.
The bright light in the eyes of the Angel was a powerful force…
The Light I now know… Was Love.
