The Devil in disguise?

In the depths of the shadows he lurked,
Until his victim met his eyes.
“This fools soul will be mine” he grinned…
And then he morphed into his disguise.

She stepped into the moonlight,
And said she meant no harm.
The man saw darkness in her eyes,
Yet he could not resist her charm.

Her beauty held deception,
Hiding the creature that dwelled inside.
She manipulated his mind with her hypnotic gaze…
And promised such sweet lies.

“Tell me what you wish” she asked.
“Will it be money, power or fame you desire?
I can give you anything you want…
You’ll be a man that people admire.”

Intrigued by her generous offer,
He asked what he must do.
She smiled and said “Your soul is all I need,
But I’ll leave it up to you.”

Amused by her request, he acquiesced
And so the deal was done.
The Angels cried; to Heaven another denied,
Because men sell their souls …Just for fun?

++++++

Obsessed by all his riches and power,
He walked streets paved with Gold.
But no fortune could buy back the years;
For now, the man has grown old.

Death; it waits for no one.
The inevitable destination of mortal man.
So he closed his eyes, and breathed his last…
And the afterlife began.

He stared into the eyes of the stranger,
That gave all his earthly wealth.
“I’ve come to collect what’s mine” she said.
And the demon in question revealed itself.

“I walked among the Angels once,
Until I challenged your God and fell.
I cursed him and he banished me from his Heaven
And sent me straight to hell.”

“Filled with hate and anger,
With my eternity down below
I devised myself a little plan …
And set out to steal Gods children’s souls.”

“God created man with free will,
So I’d tempt them all to sin.
From the forbidden tree an apple she took,..
And it begins.”

“Did I not give you a choice my friend?
Did I not fulfil your desires?
You took my cup and you drank from it,
So you’ll burn in my Hells eternal fires!!!”

Too late to repent, for the man did not choose wise.
He sold his soul for worldly wealth,
To the Devil …in disguise.
