Our Last Goodbye

Blinded by desperation of what they thought they could see;
A fate where love would grow… But this was not meant to be.

Neither can be blamed because they’re just part of a play,
That’s been written but not read, until that times slips away.

Living in yesterdays, unable to let go.
Trapped by a love that can no longer grow.
Empty promises reside in their minds.
Forever unfulfilled; Just said to be kind?

Love burning away in unequal measures.
Denied of the hope of lifes unequal treasure.

Unwilling to sacrifice, but neither of them must.
Different perceptions of heaven turn their dreams into dust.

In her minds eye there was no future, so she shows him the door.
Beyond it lays a broken heart; The one she left him with before.

Gravity can’t pull him any lower to the ground,
But he still finds his composure.
The silence she left him with before was hell,
But this time at least he has his closure.

A journey begun to find some happiness,
But there was too much pain to bear.
The journey has to end now,
Because they know it will lead nowhere.

Their travelling through life doesn’t stop here, nor will it end.
One heart has divided into two again..
Can these two hearts now be friends?

Only time can be the judge of them finding their happiness.
But for now, the man will just say “Goodbye my love........... God bless”
